My story
I’m a native Chicagoan who has found the joy of artistic expression through drawing and painting. This discovery came after retiring as a teacher from Chicago Public Schools. A former teacher and dear friend became my art teacher and guide into the visual arts world. I’ve enjoyed the path of discovery and exploration of the various media. From ink drawings to acrylic and now oil paintings, I’ve grown, learned and created an eclectic collection of work. I am a Black gay artist who grew up with religious, familal and societal boundaries. Using the wealth of experiences as source material, I create my work. Geometric abstraction, figurative work and abstract work are where the majority of my work can be classified.
